Standing in my exhibition space in Beijing, surrounded by my own work, I felt a moment of stillness. A moment where time didn’t exist, a moment where it didn't feel real, where nothing mattered except the pop of colours, the textures and the energy captured on each canvas. That was exactly what ‘NOW’ was about, being fully present, feeling everything deeply and letting go of the past and future.
‘NOW’ was my first solo exhibition in Beijing, a city that pulses with creativity and contrasts. It was a place where tradition meets modernity, where movement never stops, yet somehow, I found myself completely still in the moment. This collection was a reflection of that energy, of embracing the present without hesitation.
I’ve always created with my hands, letting the paint guide me rather than trying to control it. For me, art isn’t about rigid plans or perfection. It’s about raw emotion, instinct and the freedom to express without boundaries. Each piece in ‘NOW’ was built on that philosophy, layers of colour, textures emerging and moments of spontaneity coming together to form something alive.
The energy of the night was something special. The dress code was pink, setting the tone for an atmosphere that was bold, playful and full of life. Gio the DJ from WildKats Beijing kept the vibes flowing while a cocktail maker crafted drinks in only pink and yellow, mirroring the vibrancy of my work. The space became more than just an exhibition, it was an experience.
The reaction from visitors was overwhelmingly positive. People weren’t just looking at the paintings the art was forming conversations to connect strangers. From this exhibition, we started to build a community a space where creativity, self-expression and shared energy brought people together.
Seeing my art not only exist on the walls but spark something deeper in people reminded me why I paint. ‘NOW’ wasn’t just about the work, it was about the moment, the people, the energy we created together.
Beijing gave me the chance to share this vision on a whole new scale, and it was just the beginning. Because in the end, all we really have is NOW.
Thank you very much to Catherine for allowing me into her lovely space to exhibit and to Paul from Art Talks Beijing for his wonderful support and PR, and to all the lovely humans who came to support me at the madness of the opening night, I loved it, it was everything.
