Last weekend, I had the absolute joy of hosting one of my pop-up painting parties at the opening of The Mindful Mug in Lincoln and wow, what a day! The atmosphere was buzzing, the coffee was flowing, and creativity filled the air.
The Mindful Mug is a gorgeous new cafe with a focus on wellbeing and community, so it felt like the perfect place to bring art into the mix. Just as I set up my painting table, a crowd had gathered. What started as a few curious passersby quickly turned into a full on painting party!
People of all ages joined in from toddlers splashing colour with their hands to adults taking a mindful moment with a coffee in one hand and painting with the other. It was honestly so special to see people from age 1 to 60 getting stuck in and creating side by side. I was doing my happy dances.
There’s something so magical about making art in public spaces. It draws people in, encourages conversation, and invites everyone to slow down and get creative. The painting party gave people a reason to stay, relax, and connect all while sipping on their favourite drinks from The Mindful Mug.
I met so many lovely new faces and had the best chats with people about art, life, and how calming it can be to just paint freely. It reminded me why I do what I do art is for everyone, and moments like this make it all worthwhile.
A huge thank you to The Mindful Mug for having me. I’m already looking forward to more events like this. If you missed out, keep an eye on my website and socials for upcoming pop-ups and workshops there’s lots more creativity to come!
Did you come along to the opening? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
